Here's a simple clay swinger that's very durable and costs less than £20 to make. The bearings are about £3 each on eBay and we paid £13 for the steel, when you add some bolts and a little paint you still have change left from £20! We have shot this one a lot and it is proving to be very durable.

This is what you will need to make it:

1 x  10mm router bearing, ours came from eBay on this link  – Router Bearing

1 x M10 bolt with washers and a nyloc nut to use as a bearing shaft

4 x M4x20 bolts with nylocs to attach the bearing

25mm x 5mm flat bar – 600mm x 1 for the clay arm / 94mm x 1 for the clay holder cross bar /  120 x 2  for the bearing shaft carriers

50mm x 6mm flat bar – 600mm x 1 for the pendulum arm

50mm x 25mm box section with 3mm wall thickness – 600mm x 1 & 900mm x 1 for the frame base / 600mm x 2 for the uprights

16mm diameter round bar – 110mm for the release pin

17mm inside diameter tube – 45mm x 1 for the release pin carrier
